The three main responsibilities of the CASA volunteer are
(1) To serve as a fact finder for the judge by researching the background of the case;
(2) Speak for the child in the courtroom, representing the child’s wishes and best interests; and
(3) Continue to act as a monitor for the child during the life of the case, ensuring that it is brought to a swift and appropriate conclusion.
The first month of your experience you will spend approx. 10 hours a month working with clients. We ask that you see your child face-to-face at least once a month. Most visits are done in school and/or at the child's home. We do not transport children or take them to your home. Visits can be done by FaceTime, phone calls, text, and other social media platforms.
Please express interest and we will follow up with more details.
