We were excited to add 337 new users to the volunteer portal. Welcome to our new volunteers! We are thrilled to have you be part of our volunteer network and find a place to give back through GNRC or with our partners agencies. Thank you for your passion to make Middle Tennessee a better place for all.
We had 582 active individual volunteers in the second quarter of 2023, who gave 4,691 hours of their most precious resource - time - to make a difference in their community. Thank you so much for spending your time doing good with us!
GNRC's Medicare Counseling Program volunteers are truly impressive! Not only did they counsel 1,484 clients one-on-one and staffed 35 outreach events and presentations in the last quarter, but they also kept up with their certification and annual training. We are proud of you for staying in the know on all things Medicare and making sure any beneficiaries with questions can benefit from that wealth of knowledge. In total, volunteers have contributed 2,286 hours of service to the Medicare Counseling Program.
The Guardianship program does such an important service for adults who can no longer make their own financial, personal, and property decisions and don't have anyone in their close circle who can act as a conservator for them. The clients in the program greatly benefit from volunteers who spent time with them and help them stay connected. Often, volunteers provide companionship and support to a client until the very last days of their journey. We are so grateful for your kind and caring spirit and for the love you show these clients through your presence.
This quarter we had 13 Friendly Visitors who made 82 visits to their assigned clients for the Guardianship program. 17 Guardianship Clients were able to benefit from those visits. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and the friendship you provide to our clients! Maintaining social connection is so important as we age and leads to better overall health and care for our clients. If you are interested in visiting with a client in your area, please reach out!
Our letter campaign volunteers are truly a joy! We love seeing your creative and heartfelt letters and the smiles on the resident's faces who get to receive them! We are pleased to report that 1,799 individuals received 5,333 letters in the second quarter of 2023! Thank you for spreading joy and kindness and uplifting seniors and disabled individuals through your letters! To date, we have surpassed the milestone of 75,000 letters together. Since the campaign started in April 2020, 76,893 letters have been mailed - that is incredible!!! Thank you for your continued support!
Thank you to the three incredible individuals who have helped us organize email lists, write content, make graphics, and translate marketing materials. Your help has been greatly appreciated. Because of you our materials are available in additional languages so more people can learn and benefit from our services and information.
To our Administrative Volunteers, it is great to see your friendly faces in the office assisting with various administrative projects! Your help goes a long way to getting projects completed and keeping us organized. We are grateful for your dedication and attention to detail as you work on these tasks. Thank you!
