Important Announcements and Exciting News!
I wanted to let you know about some important changes and share some exciting news! As you were probably aware, I was expecting a little baby boy and had planned to start my maternity leave at some point within the next three weeks. However, today at 12:43am, a healthy baby boy decided to make his entrance into the world! So I will be taking my maternity leave a bit sooner, but rest assured that you will be in good hands while I am gone. We have hired a wonderful intern, Seham Yateem, who will spend a couple of hours each week making sure all things with volunteers still run smoothly. She will be available to answer any questions and will be in touch with you regarding scheduling as well as help with the volunteer management system while I am not available. My email will be monitored by me and Seham, so you can continue to send report to my email - just know that you may get a response from Seham instead of me.
If you'd like to reach Seham directly her email is syateem@gnrc.org
She is looking forward to working with all of you. I know you will give her a warm welcome! Read below for a little something from Seham to introduce herself.
Thank you,
Rebecca Nofi
Meet Seham...

My name is Seham Yateem, a Fulbright scholar at Vanderbilt University completing my M.Ed. in Community Development & Action. I come from the beautiful island of Bahrain and have grown up with a passion for the arts and a devotion to make an impact in the world. Through diverse opportunities and experiences, I have flourished my cultural competency, which has allowed me to visit many countries and connect with people of different cultures. I have managed valuable community development projects within my country and internationally, participated and facilitated leadership seminars and conferences, and worked with multinational companies to organize student exchange programs for social impact; all leading to selecting the field of my current graduate studies - Community Development & Action.
Since my childhood, I have always been interested in giving back to society. My mother told me that helping others is the rent we must pay for living on this magnificent planet. Since that day, I have never turned down an opportunity to pay it forward. I got involved in internship activities and community projects, which have made me realize the importance of preparing people of any age to take a stand on important issues and to help them to make a difference through everyday actions.
I look forward to supporting and growing alongside the volunteers of GNRC during my time here!
- Seham
